The Knobthorn Tree
A knobthorn tree, scientifically known as Acacia nigrescens, is a species of Acacia native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is a deciduous tree with distinctive knob-like thorns along its branches, which are a notable feature of the species. The tree typically grows in savannas and open woodlands and can reach heights of up to 20 meters. Knobthorn trees are valued for their durable wood and are also important in the ecosystem, providing food and shelter for various wildlife species.
